The Lotto Sport company started in Italy in the early 1970s as a sport shoe manufacturer specialised in tennis. It diversified throughout the years, first by targeting other sports and then by designing a range of casual and sports clothes, cosmetics, watches, and eventually a line of sports underwear.
The story of Lotto Sport, which was founded by the Caberlotto family, started in 1973 in Montebelluna, Italy. At that time, the brand focused on the development of tennis shoes and was only present on the Italian market until the early 80s. This era was a turning point for Lotto, as the brand started changing its perspective and developing other products such as basketball, football, volleyball and athletics shoes. Moreover, the brand sponsored famous athletes such as the tennis player John Newcombe and the Dutch football team. The second turning point for Lotto happened in 1999 when Italian entrepreneurs – who were very active in the sports sphere - took the brand over in order to boost its image in order to be more innovative. They developed their sports ranges and kept their shoes on the edge of the technology as well as high-quality clothes and undergarments, but also launched a cosmetic range and accessories to please as many customers as possible. Thanks to these changes and its history, the brand earned the trust of many sportsmen, such as David Ferrer, Nicolas Mahut, Marion Bartoli, and football teams such as Sochaux, Nice, Toulouse and even the Fiorentina and Palermo teams.
